We kicked off March with a day off of school. Instead of something fun, though, little sister got 5 teeth pulled. It seems a bit counterintuitive to pull 5 teeth to correct the problem of missing 4 permanent teeth. We had the option of leaving the baby teeth and hoping they'd stay the rest of her life, but I heard too many stories of baby teeth failing people in their 30's. I just wanted to do braces and have her never have to worry about it. So we pulled 4 baby teeth, plus the 1 adult molar that was actually there. She's missing an adult tooth in the front on the bottom, but it's not noticeable. The other teeth fill the space and you really can't tell. Because the adult molar was in her jaw still, she got to do anesthesia and they removed it from her jaw. She ended up very sore and swollen, but the procedure went perfectly. She enjoyed eating smoothies and ice cream for several days, and even managed to eat a slice of pizza that night.

March is all about little sister. She recovered in time to enjoy her birthday thoroughly. Her big request for the day was to go visit our neighbor/hair stylist and get 12 inches cut off her hair. She wanted to donate it to a company who makes wigs for cancer patients. We have a friend that's going through round 3 of leukemia, and even though little sister couldn't donate her hair directly to this friend, she wanted to help people like her. Check out that long ponytail in her hand!
Little sister is on a big unicorn kick, so she got lots of unicorn stuff for her birthday. We sure love this girl and her sunshine personality!
