The first weekend in April means General Conference.  We enjoyed lunch on Sunday at my parents house, and then watched the last session there.  Little brother altered his tradition of falling asleep on Daddy's lap during Conference by falling asleep on my lap instead. 

Easter was wonderful, as always.  We enjoyed focusing a little more on our Savior and His Atonement, and feeling that Spirit in our home a bit more.  The kids enjoyed dyeing Easter Eggs and getting WAY too much candy from the Easter Bunny.

 Little sister got to do a major project for 5th grade.  I LOVED that the teachers had them do this all in class over the course of several weeks.  I really didn't see much about it.  She and her partner chose to do theirs on deforestation.  They were supposed to take some sort of action with their project, and they chose to plant a tree.  It was supposed to be in a park, and they arranged with another group to do that.  However, they forgot to arrange with their parents.  So we ended up having her plant us a new apricot tree.  Our old one is a bit too close to the shed, so we're going to let this one get big enough to bear fruit and we'll cut down the old one.

No, this is not a repeat picture.  Technically speaking, anyway.  Here we are at the dentist.  Again.  With Little Brother.  Again.  His gums/cheek and gotten very swollen and his teeth started hurting.  Even with the numbing, when the doctor pushed on the teeth with his tools, it was really hurting little brother.  So the decision was made to pull 2 teeth, both on his right side, one upper and one lower.  He was SO brave and didn't squirm, even though it hurt.  Now he gets to have space retainers in place of those teeth so that there's room for the adult teeth when they finally come in.

 Big brother got to do the space derby with his Scout group!  Daddy helped him build it, and Big brother painted it all by himself.  Rainbow style, of course.  His went pretty well, but most important he had a lot of fun! 

 April is the month of big brother's birthday.  He had a wonderful birthday! 

 His biggest request (no surprise) was to go bowling.  So we checked him out early from school and he got to go bowling with just Mommy and Daddy.  He was THRILLED, to say the least!

April is also autism awareness month, which we feel fits in perfectly with big brother's birthday! We don’t really need an official awareness month to make us aware of his uniqueness. He is sweet and funny, shy and an awesome actor - seriously, just give this boy a stage or a microphone and he is a different person! He still has so many challenges - just recently we had a huge meltdown cuz I had no idea what he was asking me, even after him saying it a dozen times. The struggle is very real. But Worth. Every. Second. I wouldn’t trade any part of my boulder of a boy for anything. He teaches us patience, whether we want to learn it or not.
