She's really growing up, this big sister of ours. She has taken on Junior High this year and is doing great. Not to say we haven't/don't have our issues, but 1st quarter ended with all A's. She's working on the whole no-missing-assignments thing, and keeping track of everything isn't 100% there. So she's not perfect. But she's pretty awesome. This change has really been good for her. She was so ready to take on the extra responsibility. She's made good friends and most of the teachers I've been able to speak with say she's a joy to have in class, a doll, fantastic, etc. She can't wait to turn 12 next year and be able to wear makeup, go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, go to Young Women's with her friends (and her mom!). We've done some CPR and basic first aid training, and we are now very comfortable letting her babysit on her own for a few hours while Husband and I go on dates. She's proving to be a pretty darn good babysitter. Even when we aren't gone, she'll play with her younger siblings to help keep order while I try to make dinner or teach piano lessons. She's getting really good at the piano, too. She makes dinner under mom's supervision 2 times a week, and she's getting to be a pretty good chef. We sure love this girl, and don't know what we'd do without her!
