Halloween

My sister and I took advantage of a day the kids were out of school to visit Gardiner Village.  The cousins had a blast!  Big sister was there, but she's too old for silly witch pictures now. 

The highlight for our kids was, as usual, picking whatever they wanted from the candy store.  And then getting Hot Dog on a Stick on the way home.

Great Grandma's care facility was hosting their annual trick-or-treat for families of their residents.  Big sister and mom had Young Women's that night, so Daddy dressed up the kiddos and they had a wonderful time!  Please note, Big brother is dressed as Olaf.  It took forever to find a costume his size, and it was more than I usually spend, but he was dying to be Olaf.  And this is the only time he wore it.  Little sister was inspired by the documentary we watched a while back about Joan of Arc, and so we pieced a costume together for her.  Little brother was Count Dracula.

We attended the kids parade.  Big brother was not even remotely interested in participating in the day's festivities.  He now thinks Halloween morning is when Mom and Dad (if he's not working) take him out to breakfast.  Funny boy.  So he came with us to watch the parade, and was at least friendly when his class and teacher walked by.  Then we went and got pancakes, which made his day!  Little brother came home from Kindergarten and took a nap - walking down and through both the High school and Junior High and then back to his school was a lot of walking for him.  He slept for 3 hours!

 Big brother was dying to create Poppy from Trolls.  I ran to WalMart and got supplies, and it was pretty easy to create.  He loved it.

 Big sister and her friend share the same name - even spelled the same!  They went as Fred and George Weasley and went trick-or-treating on their own.

 The younger 3 all ready to go!  Big brother changed his mind about Olaf.  He went with the Captain America costume I'd tried to convince him to wear in the first place, since we already had it.  Whatever.  Yay Halloween!

And of course we had to have our traditional Halloween dinner of chicken noodle soup and rolls to get us all warm and happy before venturing out into the cold to trick-or-treat.

 The kids lasted quite a while and got a ton of candy.  And, as per usual, ate very little.  After a couple days we dumped everyone's into a big bowl and then more of it got eaten because Mommy and Daddy helped.  But we still had some left a couple weeks before Christmas.
