He walks
We were a little worried that the boy would not walk before 18 months. We could tell that he was capable, because he's been scooting around furniture for months now. But he was completely unmotivated to take any steps on his own without holding on to something. Until now. We are in trouble.

I've never figured out why people want their kids to walk. Ada took forever to walk, but that was because she couldn't figure out what was in it for her. And then we ended up wishing we'd never encouraged her. Such is the life. Good thing your boy is so cute when he's walking!
Exactly, my dear Harriet. He has totally not seen the point since he's such a fast crawler, and I have been okay with that. The girls walked at 9 & 10 months, and I REALLY don't mind that he took his dear sweet time! You spend the first 2 years teaching them to walk and talk and the next 16 telling them to sit down and shut up...
