"Where is Fallon, NV?"

It's about 60 miles east of Reno, known as the "Oasis of Nevada". Ok, so most people would describe it more like the middle of nowhere instead of an oasis. But I love visiting there. My sister lives there. I graduated from high school there, and it holds some good memories for me. For our family vacation this year, we decided to spend a week camping at good ol' Lake Lahontan with my sister and her family. It was absolutely wonderful. We cooked up some yummy food, did some waterskiing, kneeboarding, tubing. It was the perfect vacation and pretty darned relaxing. It was definitely hot, but that meant that floating in the lake for over an hour was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon or two. Husband, who has not always had good experiences there, enjoyed it. He was able to kneeboard and even took Big sister out on the tube, which she loved! I loved visiting with my family. I was thrilled that my friends Jake and Traci were able to come out for one of the days. It was so much fun to see them. Please to enjoy some pictures:

Baby brother loved playing on the beach with the toys, and he LOVED playing in the water. He would sit on the shore, about waist deep, and splash for about an hour. He had some serious fun!

Baby Brother with his cousins. That's one handsome trio!

Baby brother with Aunt Scooby. He loved it when we'd strip him down to his swim diapers in the hot afternoons!

Big sister and her cousin Gabe putting on their "silly" faces. And yes, Gabe is sporting the Mr. T. look. We're thinking we'll get him some gold chains and earrings for his birthday...

Big sister on the boat. She had a LOT of fun. She learned how to trust her life jacket this year, and was therefore much braver about swimming in the lake. She jumped off the boat several times, and absolutely loved going on the tube with Daddy. Uncle Jon took her for a pretty mild ride, but at one point it got really bumpy and that was her favorite part. She was quite the little fish! And, might I add, quite the little Indian now!

Little sister playing with the beach toys and her Daddy. Unfortunately, she had some pretty bad allergies out there that made her a little miserable. Once we figured that out, we got her some medicine and she was back to her normal happy self. She liked wading in the water and playing in the sand, but she also spent a lot of time trying to convince us to let her watch a movie! Funny girl.

Little sister did not like the big boat at all, but daddy's inflatable raft was WAY fun for her! You can't really tell unless you click on the picture to make it larger, but she's totally relaxing with her hands under her little chin. So cute!

Cousin Courtney. This is how she fell asleep, about 1/2 an hour after we got home. Yup, all that swimming and sun will wear you right out!

Thanks again to my sister for allowing us to crash your vacation! We had a blast!

I thought it was YOUR vacation! And thank you for letting me crash it, too, and for doing all the cooking, etc.
