Random and Miscellaneous

We haven't been up to a whole lot around here. We had a pretty relaxing Christmas, followed by a quick trip to NV for our niece's baptism. B & M had so much fun playing with their cousins! B also had a lot of fun playing with her cousins cousins who are just her age. It was fun to see so many people that wife misses so much! We took all the kids swimming at the hotel pool and B & M got lots of attentions from their older cousins, which they loved. It was cute to watch M try to out shout her cousins while they played Marco Polo. She has such a high pitched squeal!

For New Year's, we just had some family over and watched movies and ate yummy snacks. It was pretty low key. It was definitely more of a party when we had everyone over to watch the Utes play in the Sugar Bowl 2 days later! That was a fun game! Wife's sister is in town and we all went to Olive Garden, B & M's favorite restaurant. It was a reward for B, who got 30 stickers on her potty chart for going #2 in the potty instead of her nighttime pull up. FINALLY!!!! 2 years after starting, she is potty trained! Except at night, because she has inherited the teeny tiny bladder from her mom.

The most exciting thing around here right now is that wife's Dad and Husband (with some help from Uncle J) have been working like crazy on the basement. We are finishing off the main family room for a playroom, as well as the hallway. Wife's Dad spent most of his vacation in December working in our basement, and has done an excellent job as always. The last of the sheet rock has been hung, so we have someone coming to do the mud this week. It's getting dangerously close to being finished! Husband and Wife are not really looking forward to the task of painting, but with both of us working on it, we'll be able to get it done pretty fast. Then we just need trim, carpet, a few electrical odds and ends, doors hung....and we'll be finished! Wife is really excited for the extra closet space this will create! She's starting to get into that nesting period and is dying to organize and get everything ready!
