Well, it did take us almost two weeks but we finally got the ceiling, closets and walls painted in our basement. It was a time consuming process, especially the primer coat which we had to put on the ceiling, closets & walls all in the same day. I was almost tempted to leave it that way - primer gray is such a nice color after all. But we persevered (mostly Husband persevered) and got it all painted. It's still a little hard to catch the vision without doors and trim, but the paint helps a lot. Doors should arrive on Wednesday (or so my dad tells me). So now on to painting the doors, putting up trim, caulking and sanding where the nail gun goes, painting (oh, so looking forward to more painting!) and blinds and shelving for the closets and carpet oh and probably doorknobs would help and a few electrical things and oh yeah my dad will put tile around the fireplace along with what is sure to be a beautiful mantel (which will probably be his favorite part) and I should probably stop this sentence now before my mother the English teacher puts red pen marks all over her screen in an effort to stop the run-on! This project does feel a little like one big run-on, but it is really looking nice. How wonderful to have a Dad who can not only do all this construction, but has been willing to teach Husband along the way. He is so great to take his spare time after his day job to work on our basement. Thanks Dad! There aren't enough chocolate chip cookies in the world to show our appreciation! Here's a few pics. The first two are the hall, I stood in the closet at one end for the first and in the other closet for the second. It's interesting to me how it's the same hall, same paint, but from one end it looks WAY darker!

And to my best friends (I'm talking to you Traci & Jake) - my house is now practically screaming for you to come visit!
