Christmas

We really tried to make Christmas a little more meaningful this year. We took it easy this season, doing the traditional stuff but not getting stressed and simply not doing things we didn't have time for, like cookies. We read our Story A Day 'Till Christmas books and B loved those. A lot of them were about the true meaning of Christmas, which helped us teach her better. We watched the church's Christmas movies, and that helped with the spirit in our home. We toned down presents, too. Last year, both girls got sick of opening presents. I didn't buy that much last year, but it was still too much. So this year they each got one big present from Santa and from us, plus Christmas Eve jammies and stuff from grandparents and each other. It was perfect. B got her barbie doll house, which as you can see is taller than her! But she LOVES it and was thrilled to find it next to the tree. It just wouldn't fit underneath! M got a toy rocket. She is obsessed with the Little Einsteins and we found the rocket ship from the show and thought she'd love it. We were right! The only thing she might like more are the Little Einsteins DVD's Santa got her! We went and visited husband's family and exchanged gifts with them, although we missed Uncle who was out plowing the snow...or waiting for the snow to hit! Husband and wife both shoveled our driveway in the morning, and husband had to go out a couple more times! We had a very nice prime rib dinner with wife's family at our house, and then played a few games. Then we packed for our trip to NV for our niece's baptism. That was a little hectic, but all in all, our day was very mellow and nice. We had to take our tree down Christmas night, because it was REALLY dry and we didn't want it to burn our house down while we were in NV. A little sooner than I would have liked, but oh well. Please to enjoy our fun pics!

M, pushing her vacuum that Santa got her.

We weren't just dreaming of a White Christmas, we got it! This shot was taken from our front door.

It looks like you guys had a fun & busy Christmas. I love B's barbie house. That might keep her busy for hours.

Next year I hope to tone things down gift wise. I would like to do more service, and focus on the real meaning of Christmas. Honestly, I was a little disappointed about that this year.

Shoveling snow is a work out. Especially all that snow where you live.. Take it easy, let husband do the shoveling ;).
