Catchin' up

It's been a few weeks since we updated this here blog, so let's get to it!  We had a wonderful Easter.  All the fun candy and egg dyeing stuff happened Saturday and the kids had a blast.  Sunday was a different, more quiet celebration of our Savior's resurrection.  We had a lovely Easter Sunday, with husband's family coming over to have dinner with us. Here's the kiddos on Easter Sunday

Big brother.  I love this picture of him because it's his true smile!

Conference Weekend was so very very nice.  We enjoyed listening to all the uplifting messages and the opportunity to just sit on our couch for 2 days.  I always feel so rejuvenated after Conference.  Here is little brother after he fell asleep during one of the Sunday sessions.  We were also happy to have cousin Tiffany and her Alex come stay with us so they could go to the morning session in the Conference Center.  The kids love when Tiff comes back to visit.

We spent the following Thursday out four-wheeling with wife's parents and the cousins.  The girls had school, but the boys came along and had a lot of fun playing in the dirt and going for rides.

The boys.  Not sure why big brother was off by himself in this one...
Big brother has always been a bit timid about getting on the four-wheelers.  This time he was happy to, and discovered that he really loves going for rides!
My sister took this one of husband and wife smooching.  The pretty shaft of light falling on us seems appropriate, since the heavens open and I hear angels sing whenever husband kisses me.  ;)

Husband was really glad the next day that he got to take the girls to a luau the Activity Day girls had put on.  He had to work last time, so Grandpa stepped in and the girls loved that, but they were pretty thrilled that Daddy could come this time.  We even got him a Hawaiian shirt for the occasion.  He did not win the prize for best luau get-up, however.  That went to the Dad who was wearing coconuts over a white t-shirt and a grass skirt over his shorts.  LOL
Happy girls with their Daddy!

While they enjoyed their luau, I took the boys to get Chinese food, per their request.  We had a good time on our mommy/sons date.  Later that evening, we got to babysit Cedie's little girl so that she and her husband could have a night out for their 2nd anniversary.  We really enjoyed taking care of this sweet baby girl!  Cedie told us that she usually goes to bed around 9.  The following picture was taken around 10:15pm
She was a bit overwhelmed by the new surroundings, I think.  Husband was so good to let her play with him.  We think there may be some dentistry in her future!  We did eventually get her to go to sleep, and she slept right through and slept in later than all our other kids!

This one was taken at Husband's parents house:
My kids are so blessed to have so many Uncles and Aunts that love them.  Little sister went up to Uncle Todd with the bat and ball and said "You throw, I'll bat."  I reminded her that saying please would be nice, so she said "please."  LOL  Fortunately for her, Uncle Todd was happy to oblige and threw the ball to her for a while.  He helped her figure out the whole batting thing, too.

And another little sister one. Husband and I always go around and check on our babies before we turn in for the night.  Just to make sure everyone is still in their bed and that they aren't up playing when they're supposed to be sleeping.  Little sister had apparently gotten into her candy stash after I'd put her to bed because this sucker was sticking out of her mouth.  What are the chances we won't have a cavity when she goes to the dentist next?  Haha!
