Thursday was California Adventures again. First things first, Husband headed straight over to get Fast Passes for World of Color. While he did that with little brother, I took the other 3 on Soarin' over California. Little sister and big brother were very nervous. The line was sort of short, but still took about 15 minutes. By the time we were strapping in, they were clinging to me with death grips. Fortunately, everyone enjoyed the ride. Love that one. We met up with Husband at the Redwood Challenge Trail. This is basically a giant playground for kids. Rock climbing, bridges, nets to climb, slides, a zip line and a nature trail with different animals footprints that you can search for. Little brother was having a blast, and his siblings joined in and had a great time. They each got a paper that had all of the activities listed. You can mark when you've done each one. We underestimated the power of that paper to our OCD children. Little brother was done, but the rest of them could not fathom moving on until they'd marked off all the activities! Oy. We finally convinced them to go do something else.
The boys wanted to do Cars Land again, so we went and did the tractors and Luigi's tires again. We found a photographer and got our picture taken with Radiator Springs in the background. Then we decided to go do some of the rides by the pier. On our way there, we saw this guy:
Yay for Donald Duck! The handlers told big brother that Donald is the original angry bird (because big brother was wearing his angry birds shirt). Donald started acting upset, and the handlers said he's getting much better because he does yoga. Namaste. The kids sure loved meeting this guy!
After Donald, we did King Triton's carousel. Little sister couldn't get enough of the carousels. We then went to do Toy Story's Midway Mania. It was there last time we went in 2012, but we didn't know what it was. We just thought it was the stupid carnival games and we weren't interested in doing those. Husband finally found a description of it and discovered it was a ride. So we thought we'd try it out. The kids loved it and wanted to do it again immediately! So FUN! It is carnival games, but it's 3D carnival games that you play while on a ride. The Toy Story characters host it. Little brother was especially cute in his 3D glasses:

After the 2nd time on Toy Story Mania, we decided it was lunch time. We stopped and got fast passes for the cars ride and headed back to the hotel. The boys had skipped napping on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I was insistent that they take one this day. Little sister was tired, too. So Husband stayed in the hotel room so they could nap while I took big sister back to the park. She had her choice of going on anything her siblings couldn't/wouldn't do. She picked the tractors, funny girl. After the tractors, she wanted ice cream. So we got a Mickey ice cream for her and some frozen lemonade for me. After a few bites, she started complaining that her loose tooth was bugging her. It was hanging by a thread, but she didn't want to pull it out and she definitely didn't want me to pull it out. So I told her to keep eating her ice cream with that side of her mouth and it would just pop out. She did, and what do you know? Her tooth came out!
Who gets a visit from the Tooth Fairy while they're vacationing in Disneyland? She was pretty excited! After our snack, I took her over to watch the bug's life show that's in 3D. We tried this 2 years ago and little sister FREAKED. So we didn't even try it this time with the little's. Big sister was happy to try it and she had a good time, too. Yay! She really wanted to do Grizzly Rapids. This is just like Rattlesnake Rapids at Lagoon, just on a much bigger scale. The line was fairly short, so we hopped in it. Big sisters personal space got invaded by a mama whose children kept tugging on her pants to pull her back into her real place in line. I can't for the life of me figure out why she kept trying to get in front of us. Her kids kept telling her she was being rude and she kept arguing with them that she wasn't. Awkward. We were still a ways back from the front of the line when the asked for a party of 2 to fill out one of the rafts. There was probably 30 people in front of us, but none of them were only a party of 2. We were happy to leave our rude line neighbor behind and even more happy to join a very friendly family for our river ride. We got soaked and had a fantastic time! After this, Daddy had texted me to let me know naps were done and they were heading back. We went and met them at the entrance. Husband finally convinced big sister to go do the tower of terror. So they went on that and I took the little's on the tractors. Again. Daddy LOVES tower of terror and wanted to go again, but big sister wasn't about to oblige. Too bad I just can't stomach those rides! After that, it was time to use our fast passes for the Cars ride. We had 6 passes, but little brother is too small and big brother didn't want to go. So I took the girls while Daddy got the boys ice cream. Love that ride. So fun. Then we switched and Husband took the girls on Cars and I took the boys on...the tractors. We met up by the parade route and the kids watched the Pixar Parade. After the parade we went and did Ariel's ride. We walked along the side of the pier that we hadn't done yet, but the kids weren't wanting to do any of those rides. So we went on the carousel again. It was getting close to World of Color fastpass time, so we headed in that direction. We stopped at a souvenir shop and the kids picked out their souvenirs. Big brother and little sister got Minnie. When you press a button, her skirt twirls around and lights up. Little brother got a light up Mickey. Big sister wanted a Minnie pillow pet. That girl needs more pillows like she needs more holes in her head, but whatever. The light up toys ended up being genius. The kids were entertained while we waited for World of Color to start. We went and waited in the fastpass line. And I was reminded why I hate crowds. It's more the crowd mentality. Everyone loses their manners because they're never going to see any of these people again, so why be polite? Pushing, shoving, cutting people off. Lovely. We did manage to find a good seat. We were off to the side, but right on the front row. Nobody in front of us, but off to the side enough that we wouldn't get wet. It was actually fairly cool that night, especially with the wind coming off the water. Little sister was freezing, so we let her lay down with her sister's pillow pet over her. Glad it had a practical use! Here's my boys playing with their new Mickey and Minnie. (Don't you love that big brother picked out Minnie? He really wanted an Elsa doll, but changed his mind when he saw the light-up Minnie. Funny boy.)
We sat and waited while husband took big sister and got us corn dogs and lemonade for dinner. Do you see the little girl with the red and black polka dots on her jacket? That is the little girl who stepped right over little sister and squished up against the fence in front of her. SERIOUSLY??? Her parents just let her. I wasn't wanting to make a scene, but planned on making her move if she was still there when the show started. I just can't imagine letting my kid do that. We were right up against the fence, so what on earth made them think that getting in front of us was appropriate is beyond me. She did eventually move because there wasn't room for her parents. Yeesh. Husband came back and we enjoyed our hot dogs. Then the Disney people came by and said everyone had to be standing, so up we got. The show finally started, yay!!! At which point the very tall parents of the rude little girl moved right up to the fence and leaned out over it. I couldn't see a thing. Fortunately, the girls still could. Grrr. If you're over 6 feet tall and can already see over everyone, can't you be courteous and think about the fact that there are people behind you that can't see over you? Honestly. I traded places with husband and we could both see, but we had to hold the boys again. The whole point of being on the front row was so that we could leave them in the stroller to watch. About 2 minutes into the show, two little kids came from out of nowhere and stood in front of our stroller. Not even kidding. They were leaning over the fence with cell phones getting video. Husband and I seriously couldn't believe it! They had clearly been sent up there by their parents to get video. I was about to tap their shoulders and ask them to move when they darted away again. It just never ceases to amaze me when people just have absolutely no manners. The show was cool, but I can tell you now that I will probably never do it again. Not worth the crowds of extremely rude people! There were a few parts where they also have flames shooting out of the water. While it warmed sister up, it also scared her to watch it. Funny girl. Anyway. The kids have since told me that they all LOVED it, so I guess it was worth it. Another successful day at the park completed, so we headed back to our hotel and everybody fell asleep pretty much as soon as heads hit the pillow.
