Progress

Grandpa is healing from his accident and is now taking his vacation weeks from work. So of course he is relaxing in his easy chair, sipping hot apple cider and contemplating the questions of the universe. Um, yeah. Sorry, I know that made many of you laugh really hard! In reality he is hard at work in our basement, helping husband get as much finished as we can this month. We are making some good progress, but still have a lot to do. Big sister would love to move into her new room before Christmas. We keep telling her maybe by Valentines Day! Here are some pictures of the progress we've made

Our storage room. It's all painted, we still need to do trim and put up a lot of shelving. Husband is also planning on painting the concrete, so that it will be a good place for messy projects. That door to the cold storage is actually hung now, but I don't feel like redoing photos!

Big sister's room. Yup. It's Pepto Bismol pink. She picked it out. We actually had to do some compromising. She originally picked a much darker, much pinker shade of pink. We had to veto that one. She LOVES it, though.

Little Sister's room, with husband in it hooking up the electrical outlets. Before she was born, I kept falling in love with yellow baby items. It seemed to be her color. In the hospital after her first bath, the nurse went to put the pink bow in her hair and said "Oh, no. That won't work. Her color is definitely yellow." So the yellow bow went in. It suits her, so full of sunshine and happy. She picked her own color, too. She pointed to one that we thought might be a little dark and we weren't sure if she was really picking one or just pointing for fun. When Husband handed the samples to her a while later, she shuffled through them for a minute or two, and finally pointed to the same one. So she really knew what she wanted! She's so excited for her "yeh-wo" room!

Grandpa, slaving away over the tile in the bathtub. It looks SSOOOO good! See that smile? That is the look of a man who is happy to be working on his vacation. I know. He's odd. But we sure love him!

There is a 3rd bedroom we are going to finish, but it is acting as the storage room until we get the shelving up in the actual storage room. Then we'll move everything and start on the framing, sheetrocking, and all that. We're still working on the vanity in the bathroom, and we need to buy a toilet. We also need to put up the trim and paint it. Once the 3rd bedroom is all finished, we'll get the carpet for the bedrooms. It will be so nice once it's all done! We are excited!

Love. the. colors. Why does that look so much better to me when you type that way? Anyhow, congrats, it looks beautiful, although I think you do need a super deep pink bedroom to match that yellow. Either way you are making me excited to have a house.
