The rest of July...

We spent the better part of the Saturday before we left cleaning the house and packing up for our week at Lake Lahontan.  We headed out first thing Sunday morning.  Little brother was loving being up front in the middle of mom and dad during the trip!  Since we had to take the truck, I figured we'd stick him up with us so that I could feed him and play with him instead of listening to screaming.  He slept a lot and was happy for the most part the rest of the time.  The kids all did great.  They always do when they can watch movies the whole time!  We got to Shaye's house Sunday night and had dinner and planned meals for the next week.  Monday was spent shopping, picking up the trailers, loading up and driving to the lake.  We got there a little after dinner time and just set up camp.  We did discover that our truck sucks battery life from the trailer rather than giving it.  Glad we'd brought a generator!  Tuesday was perfect - tube rides, waterskiing, sitting on floating devices in the lake, eating yummy food, and visiting with the family.  Here's the sunset from that night:

The kids all had a blast playing together - they spent a lot of time building and rebuilding "Castleville" that week:
And little brother loved having Daddy to hold him whenever little brother's heart desired:
Dear Mom, it would've been better if you'd just smiled!
For Brodie, who wanted me to take this shot:
It was wonderful to have our own trailer.  The slide out feature was awesome!  The kids all had their own bed and we had room for little brother's playpen!  We were able to do naps and the kids slept pretty well at night, too.

Big brother was loving the beach!
Big sister, who became pretty fearless on the tube!

Big sister and Courtney - doesn't that water just make you want to waterski????
The triplets.  Someday we'll get one with everyone looking at the camera!
 Shaye skiing
Courtney getting up on the wakeboard - she did awesome!
Photographic evidence for my children that their mom can waterski.  I wish we'd gotten pictures of my first run, which was much better.  Ah, well!

Despite a few hiccups along the way, as there always are in such a trip, we all had a marvelous time!  A shoutout and thank you to my good friends Jake and Traci for taking the time to come visit us.  It was so nice to see them and their kids!  We wore the kids out thoroughly every day and they slept great each night.  Except for the night when some juvenile delinquents decided to go swimming/screaming next to our camp.  I got to be the one to go out and threaten to call the cops if they didn't leave.  They left pretty fast.  Good thing they don't know how long it takes the cops to respond out there!  Haha!  We came home the following Saturday and went to see Batman after getting the kids to bed.  It was really good, by the way.  The next week we spent recovering from our vacation and getting everything ready for...

THE WEDDING!

It was a crazy week!  It took a full 2 days to unpack and clean up from the vacation, and then we kicked right into making sure the yard was ready for a reception.  Husband worked the 24th and I basically weeded and cleaned.  When he got off, we did a small bbq for our little family and then his family came over to move things around in our backyard.  After they left we set off the fireworks for the kids and sent them to bed.  Then husband and I went to WalMart and bought a ton of hanging flower baskets to stick in our front gardens since all the flowers had died.  Wednesday Husband spent the whole day making sure the yard was perfect while I worked on the inside of the house.  We took some time out that night to enjoy Christmas in July!  Or in other words we used my Christmas present from Husband last year - tickets to Wicked!  We went to dinner and enjoyed the show immensely!  It was nice to have a break from the craziness of the week.  My husband must really love me!  Then it was back to getting everything ready.  The wedding started bright and early Saturday morning.  It was a beautiful ceremony.  Husband's brother couldn't have found someone more perfectly suited for him!  It was so wonderful to be there with them!

We had a nice luncheon after the ceremony and then headed back to our place to get ready for the reception.  They had someone come in to set up most of it, and it all looked fantastic!  Until it rained:

If you look closely, you can tell that it is POURING!  Despite the sunshine.  The wind kicked up quite a bit, too, and knocked a few things over.  Fortunately, the rain stopped and everything dried off.  The wind stayed with us for the most part, but that did mean that it wasn't quite so hot!  All in all it turned out beautifully!
 The Happy Couple

Husband's brother didn't want his car decorated, so we hid it in the garage.  But I knew where it was!  Haha!  I was very nice, though, and made sure it wasn't crude.  Someone else came along later and put butterflies all over, as well.

Me with the Best Man.  Husband sure is hot in his tux!

I didn't get any pictures of the whole family 'cuz I was running around after my kiddos the whole time.  But everything seemed to go very well!  And we're done with our super crazy month!
